Louis C.K. DVD pays for itself, raises money for charities

Louis C.K. has been staying busy with his latest endeavor, Live at the Beacon Theater.

The video is unlike anything Louis has done in the past, as he’s packaged everything together and put it up for sale online for just $5. Earlier this week, Louis C.K. posted on his official website that after just 12 days of having the video up for sale he has raised just over 1 million dollars. Just about half of the cost will go toward paying for the cost of production, website development and staff. Another $280,000 will be given to five charities throughout the world, leaving the smallest amount of money to the man who put the whole project together.

After being in the media so much for his new project, Louis announced on his website that he will “disappear for a while,” so it may be some time before Louis C.K. tickets hit the market.
